It would have been in focus if I would have held the camera, but she has taken total possession of this small camera that I bought while I was in Iraq. I don't mind at all, I am so excited every time she bugs me for the camera. I try to hide it though, I don't want her to grow up thinking photography is dumb because her 'old man' thinks it's cool.

Daughter and Father

Discovery

Eadaoin discovers new things about photography every day. Like if you turn the camera around you can see what others see. I find that her main motivation for taking photographs is so she can let other people (mostly her Grandmothers and Great-Grandmothers) see what's going on in her life. Whenever she tells her brothers to say 'cheese', she always adds that they should have a picture taken so Grandma Diana and Grandma Louise "should see". This particular photo is to make people laugh. She doesn't know it yet, or understand what it means, but I do find inspiration in her photography. Not that I'm trying to make a pre-schooler's photographs more technically proficient or meaningful than they are (every parent thinks their child is the best ever), but she inspires me to see the value and photographic worth in all the things and people that we see every day.
